Respect For MS Dhoni: BCCI Retires No. 7 Jersey; Watch 5 Match Winning Decisions By Thala
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the man who led Team India like a warrior and won almost every prestigious title for the country, is now being paid a tribute by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The cricket regulatory has decided to take the number 7 jersey, that Dhoni used to wear on the field off the shelve.
Captain Cool's strategies helped the side emerge victorious on countless occasions, and clinch titles like the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, ICC ODI World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Under his leadership, the team won the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups. Dhoni is the only captain for India who bagged ICC trophies in all three formats for the game.

Earlier, the board decided to retire the no. 10 jersey associated with batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, and now a similar step has been taken to acknowledge and honor MS Dhoni's great contribution to the evolvement of Indian cricket.
Have a look at MS Dhoni's 5 match winning decisions:
Trusting Joginder Sharma
In the nail-biting final of the 2007 T20 World Cup final, MS Dhoni gave the ball to Joginder Sharma, when only 13 runs were required. Everyone was expecting that experienced Harbhajan Singh would bowl the final over, but Dhoni handed over the ball to Joginder Sharma, who dismissed Misbah-ul-Haq to help India win the maiden T20 World Champion Title.
Betting on spinners
During the 2013 Champions Trophy final against England, which was snapped to a T20 game due to the rain, MS Dhoni relied on spinners R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Suresh Raina to bowl four out of the last five overs. Proving their captain's call right, spinners chocked the English batsmen to hand over the historic Champion's Trophy win.
Asking Ganguly to captain in his farewell game
MS Dhoni won hearts after he asked Sourav Ganguly to lead the side in the final overs of the Nagpur against Australia in 2008. His decision was praised by the entire cricket fraternity as nothing could have been better for Ganguly as a farewell gift.
Comes out to bat ahead of Yuvraj Singh
Coming out to bat ahead of Yuvraj Singh was one of the famous and most important decisions by MS Dhoni. He decided to take on spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, whose sharp turning deliveries were a big challenge to play at that time, himself instead of Yuvraj Singh. The decision destroyed Sri Lanka's hope to win the ODI World Cup trophy.
Encouraging the team
Former skipper Dhoni led the team from the front and always backed his players. MSD gave confidence to many bowlers and got them wickets by setting up the perfect field and guiding them from behind the stumps.
