RCB IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Clinches Orange Cap, Sets This Record For Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB IPL 2024: Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper and ace batter Virat Kohli claimed the orange cap during match number 10 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Virat Kohli notched an unbeaten 83 runs off 59 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) studded with 4 rolling boundaries and 4 towering sixers. In the ongoing race, Virat Kohli is in first place currently with 181 runs, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad's Heinrich Klaasen with 143 runs, and Rajasthan Royals's Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson with 127 and 97 runs, respectively.

Virat Kohli bagged several other records along with the highest scorer (till now) in the IPL 2024. The RCB star surpassed his former teammates AB de Villiers (238) and Chris Gayle (239) in terms of hitting the most number of sixes in the history of IPL.

Kohli also clinched the record for hitting 101 fifty-plus scores in the T20 format. Looking at the overall record, Virat Kohli is now behind only Chris Gayle (110), and David Warner (109) to hit the maximum number of half-centuries in the shortest-over format.

Virat Kohli, who was away from cricket and had opted out of the test series against England due to his wife Anushka Sharma's pregnancy, looks in perfect form, which is good news for Indian cricket fans as Team India has to play the T20 World Cup in June after the completion of Indian Premier League 2024.

Though, Virat Kohli batted beautifully at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, but his hard work went in vain as the team faced a defeat by 7 wickets. The team's out-of-form bowling is a big headache for RCB captain Faf du Plessis. The team has lost two games out of three they have played so far, and now eagerly looking to bounce back on the winning track.
