Rahul Dravid is likely to be replaced by another Indian batting legend VVS Laxman, the reports added.

Notably, Rahul Dravid will not be seen with Team India for the five T20i matches against Australia starting from November 23.

Dravid has been associated with Indian cricket team for more than 20 years, first as a player, then as a coach. The batting legend has communicated to the cricket board that he isn't keen to continue as a full-time coach, reports quoted a BCCI source without naming him.

Sources have added that Dravid is not interested in repeating the gruel of being a Coach. Although, he might join back as the head of the National Cricket Association (NCA) in Bangalore, to stay connected with the game and serve the cricket fraternity. It is believed that Dravid is more interested in strengthening the roots, training the youngsters, serving the sport sporadically, and not as a full-time coach again, the source added.

On the other hand, VVS Laxman, who was once known for his wristy flicks and playing many iconic innings for the side, is believed to be the front-runner for the position of India head coach. Sources said Laxman had travelled to Ahmedabad during the World Cup to meet BCCI's officials. He may sign an official contract super soon as the Head Coach's position is now vacant.

Team India is scheduled to play five T20s against Australia and three games against South Africa starting November 23.
