PM Modi Dials Captain Rohit Sharma To Congratulate Him On T20 World Cup 2024 Victory; Lauds Kohli, Pandya

To congratulate Team India on their T20 World Cup 2024 victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dialed Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Sunday morning. According to the reports, PM Modi lauded the entire team for their great performance throughout the tournament and praised the skipper for his splendid captaincy.

PM Modi also lauded ace cricketers Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya for their important roles in the final match.

Notably, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also bid adieu to the shortest format of the game calling it a perfect time to say goodbye to T20 cricket and make way for youngsters.

Modi praised Hardik Pandya for his final over and Suryakumar Yadav for his splendid catch on the boundary line to dismiss David Miller. He also talked highly of Jaspreet Bumrah's contribution, the officials added. The prime minister thanked coach Rahul Dravid for his contribution to Indian cricket.

Yesternight, immediately after India's victory, PM Modi shared a video message for the entire team saying "our boys did it in style".

This win will be remembered for a very special reason. There were so many teams, but yet India was undefeated. This is not a small feat. You played every ball delivered by the greats of the game and kept winning. This undefeated run boosted your morale and kept the tournament entertaining. A lot of congratulations from my side."
