PBKS vs MI IPL 2025 Match In Dharmashala Likely To Be Rescheduled; Read Details Here

After 'Operation Sindoor' conducted neutralise terrorists and their camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Indian government has order several security measures, including the suspension of flight operations at 18 airports, including Dharamshala's Kangra Airport.

Due to security reasons at Dharamsala airport, IPL teams Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) would not be allowed to land and their match is most likely to be postponed.

PBKS vs MI IPL 2025

Originally, the Mumbai Indians were scheduled to face Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 11, necessitating a reconsideration of their travel plans due to the airport's closure.

These teams now face the challenge of finding alternative travel arrangements for their upcoming matches.

The situation has particularly affected the Mumbai Indians, who were set to play against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. With both Dharamsala and Chandigarh airports out of service, the team is contemplating a route that involves traveling to Delhi and then proceeding to Dharamsala by road.

Conversely, the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals match scheduled for May 8 in Dharamsala will go on as planned since the Delhi Capitals had arrived before the airport's closure. However, post-match, the Delhi Capitals plan to journey from Dharamsala to New Delhi by bus for their May 11 game against Gujarat Titans. This has led to a fluid situation, with ongoing discussions among franchises about the best course of action for travel, considering the airport's continued closure could impact not just the teams but the broadcast crew and equipment as well.

A source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) highlighted the complexity of the situation by stating, "Everything is fluid at the moment. Discussions are on with franchises, and they are also internally discussing about what are the options of travelling from Dharamsala to Delhi in case the airport remains shut." The source further elaborated on the potential challenges, emphasizing, "One option (for Delhi Capitals) remains bus journey but then it is not just about teams but also the broadcast crew and equipment. It's an evolving situation."
