MS Dhoni's Words Help Rinku Singh To Stay Cool, Emerge As Finisher During India vs Australia T20 Match

Young Indian batting order's powerful striker, Rinku Singh stayed as calm as a cucumber in a high-voltage encounter at the Visakhapatnam on Thursday night against Australia.

After the match, Rinku gave all the credit to the former Indian captain and his idol MS Dhoni. He said Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai's advice helped him tackle the tense situation.

Sharing a part from his old conversation with the legend, Rinku said Dhoni told him that the secret is to stay as calm as possible. Always try and to hit the ball straight, which really worked for him, the young cricketer added.

Showing no reactions, and keeping nerves have helped him grow, he further added.

India won the first T20 international by 2 wickets, which was no less than a breather for Indian cricket fans after the World Cup defeat. It was India's highest-ever T20I chase against Australia, resulting in a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Rinku Singh, who came to the limelight with his powerful hitting down-the-order during the Indian Premier League, helped India chase a big total of 209 runs during the Visakhapatnam encounter.

The left-hander struck an unbeaten 22 off 14 balls and stayed as cool as ice to finish the game with a six. However, the sixer was not considered to be a legal one as Sean Abbott bowled the final delivery as no ball.

Suryakumar Yadav (80) and Ishan Kishan (58) were the other two star performers on Thursday night.

The second T20I will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, November 26, 7 pm onwards.
