Mohammed Shami's Estranged Wife Hasin Jahan Calls Cricket "Characterless, Greedy, Mean" In Her Latest Post

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami's estranged wife Hasin Jahan has once again launched a scathing attack at cricket. In her latest Instagram post, Hasin Jahan called Mohammed Shami 'characterless, greedy, and mean-minded'.

Last week, the Calcutta High Court orded the cricketer to provide monthly maintenance of Rs 4 lakh to his estranged wife Hasin Jahan and their daughter Aaira.

The court specified that Rs 1.50 lakh is for Hasin Jahan and Rs 2.50 lakh for their daughter, with payments retroactive over seven years. The lower court must resolve the case within six months.

Hasin Jahan expressed her dissatisfaction through an Instagram post on Friday. She started her post with an I Love You and then lashed out, saying cricketer has a "wrong mindset," and neglected his family due to arrogance.

High Court's Decision on Maintenance

The case was filed under the 'Protection Of Women From Domestic Violence' act. Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee stated that Rs 1.50 lakh for Hasin Jahan and Rs 2.50 lakh for their daughter is fair to ensure financial stability until the main application is resolved. The order also allows Shami to voluntarily cover additional educational or reasonable expenses for his daughter.

Hasin Jahan had earlier contested a district sessions court ruling that directed Shami to pay Rs 50,000 to her and Rs 80,000 to their daughter in 2023. She argued that the amount was insufficient given their needs.

In her Instagram post, Hasin Jahan accused Shami of pushing his family into trouble due to his mindset and pride. She claimed he has not contacted her or their daughter recently, except when compelled by Justice Tirthankar Ghosh's intervention.

"A person with a wrong mindset, who has crime in his mind, and who pushes his own family, wife and children towards trouble, and who was never anything and suddenly a lot happens, these people get arrogance and attitude," she stated.

Jahan believes that once Shami's pride diminishes, he will remember his responsibilities towards his family. She highlighted that arrogance has kept him from reaching out to them.
