KL Rahul Or Sarfaraz Khan For Pune Test? Here's What India Coach Gautam Gambhir Said

Since India lost the Bengaluru Test to New Zealand by 8 wickets and that too in a humiliating manner, fans and critics started questioning the skipper and team management. World's one of the best test teams got out for only 46 runs in the first inning, the third-lowest total ever in an inning by the Indian cricket team. Team out-of-form middle-order has been a big headache for the team management and coach Gautam Gambhir is trying to find a perfect combination of young legs and experienced minds.

In the second inning of the match, debutante Sarfraz Khan, who was inducted into the team in place of Shubhman Gill, slammed a valuable ton (150) and raised his chances to claim the spot for upcoming games.

On the other side, KL Rahul could only score 0 and 12 runs in two innings.

Now a debate sparked on social media that if Shubhman Gill returns to the side, then Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir will keep whom: KL Rahul or Safraz Khan?

Reacting to the similar questions by media, Coach Gambhir said, "Social media does not matter one bit. What the team management and leadership group thinks is very important. He is batting really well, had a decent knock in Kanpur against Bangladesh on a difficult wicket."

"I am sure he would be knowing that he has to score big runs and he has capability of scoring runs. That's why he has been backed by the team...Ultimately, everyone is judged. International cricket is all about being judged," Gambhir added.

India is scheduled to play the second game of three test match series starting October 24 at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium in Pune.
