Jasprit Bumrah Funny Moment: 'Somebody’s Wife Is Calling' Joke At Lord’s Goes Viral
India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah not only impressed on the field but also won hearts off it with a humorous quip during the post-day press conference at Lord's, following the second day of the third Test against England.
As Bumrah addressed the media, a journalist's phone rang mid-conference. With impeccable comic timing, the 31-year-old pacer responded with a smile:
"Somebody's wife is calling, so I'll not pick it up. I've just left it that way."
The moment, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media for its candid and lighthearted tone.

Bumrah had returned to the Indian playing XI for the crucial third Test, replacing Prasidh Krishna, and delivered a standout performance. He picked up a five-wicket haul, his second of the series, helping restrict England to 387. His efforts earned him a place on the prestigious Lord's honours board.

During the presser, Bumrah was also asked why he didn't celebrate much after reaching his fifer milestone. In his usual grounded style, he admitted fatigue had taken over:
"The reality is that I was tired. There was no happiness factor. I bowled for a long time on the field, and sometimes I get tired. I'm not 21-22 anymore that I'll jump around. I'm usually not like that. I was happy that I contributed. Other than that, I just wanted to go back to my mark and bowl the next ball," Bumrah told Hindustan Times.
By the end of the day's play, India stood at 145/3, still trailing England by 242 runs. Bumrah's brilliant spell, along with his relaxed charm in front of the press, has added another memorable chapter to his growing legacy in Test cricket.
