Jason Gillespie Resigns; PCB Names Aqib Javed As Pakistan's Interim Red-Ball Coach
Jason Gillespie, who took on the role of Pakistan's Test team head coach in April, has resigned. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now appointed Aqib Javed as the interim head coach for the Test team. Under Gillespie's leadership, Pakistan made a comeback from a 1-0 deficit to win a three-Test series against England at home in October.
Currently, Pakistan is engaged in a three-match T20I series against South Africa. This will be followed by three ODIs. The two-Test series is set to commence on December 26 at Centurion's SuperSport Park, marking Aqib Javed's first task as the red-ball head coach.

Pakistan's Upcoming Test Series
The initial Test match will occur from December 26 to 30 at Centurion. The second Test is scheduled for January 3 to 7 at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. These matches are part of an ongoing all-format tour against South Africa.
Pakistan currently holds the seventh position in the ICC World Test Championship points table and is out of contention for next year's WTC Final. They have four more Tests left in this cycle. Meanwhile, South Africa leads the points table and is a strong contender for the final after defeating Sri Lanka 2-0 at home recently.
Aqib Javed steps into his new role with significant challenges ahead. His leadership will be crucial as Pakistan aims to improve its standing in international cricket. The upcoming series against South Africa presents an opportunity for Aqib to make a mark as head coach.
South Africa's recent performances have been impressive, making them formidable opponents. As they prepare for the Boxing Day Test, both teams will be eager to showcase their skills and strategies on the field.
The transition from Jason Gillespie to Aqib Javed marks a new chapter for Pakistan cricket. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how this change impacts the team's performance in the upcoming matches.
