Ishan Kishan's Flying Kiss Celebration – Was It for SRH Owner Kavya Maran?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Ishan Kishan delivered a breathtaking performance in his debut match for the franchise against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The high-octane clash took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Walking in at No.3 after Abhishek Sharma's dismissal in the fourth over, Kishan wasted no time in making an impact. The left-hander launched a brutal assault on the Rajasthan Royals bowlers, smashing them all around the park. His aggressive approach helped him notch up a blistering half-century in just 25 balls, leaving the opposition stunned.

Adding to the excitement, Kishan celebrated his fifty with a flying kiss directed toward the stands. While the intended recipient remains unknown, fans speculated that it was meant for SRH owner Kavya Maran.

The wicketkeeper-batter didn't stop there. He accelerated further and reached his maiden IPL century in just 45 balls, displaying sheer dominance. Kishan remained unbeaten on 106 off 47 deliveries, striking at an astonishing rate of over 225. His knock, laced with 11 fours and six sixes, powered SRH to a mammoth total of 286 runs-the second-highest team total in IPL history.
Kishan's stellar innings comes after a rough patch in his career, including being dropped from the BCCI's central contract. However, his hard work in domestic cricket has paid off, as he made a resounding statement in his first outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
SRH's batting unit fired on all cylinders, with Travis Head (67), Heinrich Klaasen (34), Nitish Kumar Reddy (30), and Abhishek Sharma (24) chipping in with valuable contributions to set an imposing target.
