Indian Women's Team Beat England By Record 347 Runs

Harmanpreet Kaur and company on Saturday made the nation proud once again as they crushed England by a huge margin of 347 runs. The victory has been registered as the biggest margin win in women's red ball game history. It was the first time, in the last 15 tests at home, that India managed to outclass against the English team. Although, the Indian team defeated England in away games twice in 2014.

Before Team India achieved this feat against England, Sri Lanka had the record of beating Pakistan by 309 runs in Colombo in 1998.

The DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai also witnessed Deepti Sharma's nine-wicket haul in the match.

"I was just waiting to bowl and keeping myself warmed up, got a lot of help from the wicket, and backed myself. Harry Di (Harmanpreet) said to bowl in your areas and the turn will help you. We want to continue this in the next Test," Deepti Sharma said after the match.

It was purely a collective effort that sealed the victory for India. Speedster Pooja Vastrakar picked up three wickets for 23 runs and spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad trapped two English women with her turning deliveries, giving away only 20 runs.

After winning the toss, Harmanpreet opted to bat first. Proving her captain's decision right, the team India pinned a huge total of 428 runs in the first inning. Shubha Satheesh (69), Rodrigues (68), Harmanpreet Kaur (49), Yastika Bhatia (66), and Deepti Sharma (67) batted well for India. In reply, England was bundled up for 136 runs.

Kaur and Co. continued the dominance in the second inning too as they declared inning after scoring 186 more runs which set up a massive total of 478 runs to chase in the fourth inning. But Indian bowlers had different plans and wrapped up England's second inning in only 27.3 overs for 131 runs. Resulting in India's 347-run win against England in only 3 days.
