India Vs Pakistan Series Can Be A Booster To Test Cricket: Rohit Sharma; Shahid Afridi Backs Him

India vs Pakistan match is a contest that every cricket fan loves to watch. But both the ace cricketing nations have not played any bilateral series in a decade due to political differences. Recently, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, during a podcast run by former England captain Michael Vaughan, said that he would love to play against Pakistan and India vs Pakistan series would be a huge boost to Test cricket. Now, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has also said the same.

Speaking on a cricket talk show on Saam TV, Afridi praised Rohit stating it was a "positive statement" from the Indian captain and highlighting that cricket is the only way through which relations between both countries can be fixed.

Rohit had said that he believes that Pakistan is a good team with a superb bowling line-up, and India is known for its strong batting. If they play cricket together then a good contest will be held. Rohit underlined that if not in India or Pakistan, both teams can play overseas.

"I would love to (play against Pakistan), it would be a great contest between two sides. We play them in ICC trophies, pure cricket I am looking at, great contest, so why not?" Rohit had said in reply to Michael Vaughan's "Don't you think India playing Pakistan regularly will be fantastic for Test cricket?"

To which, Afridi said, "Bilkul bahut acha jawab hai, hona bhi yahi chahiye (very good answer, the series should happen)."

"We used to go to India and play cricket there. These things build relationships....padosi hai padosiyo ka haq hota relationship jitna behtar ho utna acha hai (it's neighbours right to have a good relationship)," Afridi said.
