Indian speedster Akash Deep, who played a significant role in India's 336-run dominating victory by picking 10 wickets against England in the second test played at Edgbaston, recently revealed that his sister Akhand Jyoti Singh is battling cancer. In the post-match conversation with Cheteshwar Pujara, Akash Deep dedicated his performance to his sister.

A few hours after Akash Deep's video message for his sister went viral, Jyoti also shared an emotional response to her brother's dedication and discussed her ongoing treatment.

Akash Deep's sister, Akhand Jyoti Singh, expressed immense pride in her brother's performance against England. Despite her health challenges, she encouraged him to focus on his cricket career. "Before the England tour, we went to meet him at the airport. I told him, 'I'm absolutely fine, don't worry about me, just do well for the country,'" she said.

Emotional Support For Akash Deep 's Sister Amidst Challenges

Jyoti revealed that her cancer is in its third stage and requires six more months of treatment. She shared how Akash's achievements bring joy to their family during these difficult times. "It makes me very happy when Akash takes wickets," she said. The family celebrates his successes with enthusiasm.

During the Indian Premier League (IPL), Jyoti was hospitalised for treatment. Despite his busy schedule with Lucknow Super Giants, Akash made time to visit her. "Even then, he would come meet me either before or after the matches," she mentioned.

Akash Deep has played eight Test matches and taken 25 wickets so far. His sister highlighted his dedication to family: "Everything I have is for my sisters and my family." Akash often calls home before and after matches to share his experiences.

After India's historic win at Edgbaston, Jyoti spoke with Akash via video call. He reassured her by saying, "Don't worry, the whole country is with us."
