India Vs England: Jay Shah's Big Statement On Virat Kohli

Indian batting talisman Virat Kohli, who requested a time out from the board due to some personal, is being missed by the fans, teammates, and even opponent English cricketers who wanted to play against World's one of the best cricketers. Virat Kohli decided not to play the ongoing series after discussing it with skipper Rohit Sharma and team management. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah came out in support of Virat Kohli stating he has the right to ask for personal leave.

Jay Shahs Big Statement On Virat Kohli

Talking to the media, Jay Shah at Rajkot's Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium, said, "If a person, for the first time in a 15-year career, asks for personal leave, it's his right. Virat is not a player who will ask for leave for no reason. We need to trust our player and back him."

At first, the BCCI announced that Virat would not be available for the first two tests, but later the suspense continued for the last three tests also.

"Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli's decision," reads BCCI's official statement.

Virat Kohli was last seen on the pitch during the T20I series against Afghanistan in January this year.

Former RCB star and South African cricketer AB de Villers revealed that Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma is expecting a second child, so the cricketer wanted to be with her. However, he made a U-turn from his statement apologizing to Kohli's family and requested fans to respect their privacy.
