India vs England: Irfan Pathan Praises Virat Kohli, Says Champion Is Back At His Best

Former cricketer-turned commentator Irfan Pathan lauded Virat Kohli, the spine of Team India's batting order, for his recent performances against South Africa. Kohli alone stood tall against the Proteas and tried his best to avoid the defeat at the Centurion, but sadly he couldn't. However, the lone warrior impressed cricket fans with his skillful batting and dedication. Praising Virat Kohli's never-give-up attitude, Pathan said he was exceptional against South Africa during the rainbow nation tour and looks all set for the five tests series against England.

The India vs England test series is slated from January 25 to March 7. The first test will be held at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, followed by games at Visakhapatnam's Dr. YS Rajashekar Reddy Stadium, Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, Ranchi's JSCA stadium and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharmshala.

Irfan Pathan Lauds Virat Kohli

"Virat Kohli is back at his very best, this is good news for Indian cricket and Virat Kohli fans. He was exceptional in South Africa and his foot movement was brilliant. He is showing aggressive signs with his footwork and that might help him score runs in the England series," Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.

Virat Kohli, who achieved the feat of scoring a half-century of centuries during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, will eye another milestone during the India vs England Test series. Kohli needs only 150 runs to complete his 9000-run mark. He will be the fourth Indian Test batsman to achieve this feat after Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Rahul Dravid.

Additionally, Kohli is close to his 30th Test century mark, with 29 in his kitty.
