Ind vs Eng Hyderabad Test LIVE: Sunil Gavaskar Slams Shubhman Gill For Playing Lose Shot, Throwing Away Wicket
Despite batting bravely on Day 1 and in the first hour on Day 2 of the first test at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium against England, Indian batter Shubman Gill got out in a very strange, casual, and unexpected manner. He played an aerial shot to English debutant spinner Tom Hartley to get out, which broke the hearts and expectations of thousands of Indian cricket followers.
It won't be wrong to say that Gill gifted his wicket to the debutant. He scored only 23 runs after facing 66 balls displaying the slowest strike rate among all batters who surpassed the 20-run mark in this Test match.

For his strange selection of shot to get out, Indian cricket legend and commentator Sunil Gavaskar came heavily on Shumbhman Gill. Surpissed by the Shubhamn's dismissal, Gavaskar said, "What kind of a shot was he looking to play? One can understand if he was looking to play it in the air but it was just a badly executed on-drive. He did all the hard work and then played a shot like that."
In last ten innings, Shubhman Gill failed to cross the 50-run mark in the red ball format since his 128-run inning against Australia in the Ahmedabad Test, last year. Gill scored 13, 18, 6, 10, 29*, 2, 26, 36, 10, and 23 in the last 10 match innings.
