ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Dominica Pulls Out Of Hosting Matches
Dominica, one of seven Caribbean countries considered to host the T20 World Cup 2024, has decided to withdraw from hosting any match. According to reports, the Dominica government has opted to withdraw from hosting duties due to concerns about incomplete stadium development work ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
The tournament, set to take place in the West Indies and the United States next June, had initially slated Dominica's Windsor Park for three matches, comprising one group stage and two Super Eight games.

In an official statement, the Dominica government detailed several efforts made to enhance Windsor Park and Benjamin's Park, including venue upgrades, assessments, and additional pitch construction.
Despite these endeavors, examination of contractor timelines revealed that the stadium renovations wouldn't conclude before the prestigious tournament's commencement. "As a result, a decision was taken not to host any of the matches in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as it would not be prudent for the Government of Dominica to commit to hosting these games," the statement read.
Considering the situation, the Government called it best in the interest of all. Thanking the West Indies Cricket Board for the opportunity, the Government of Dominica said that it looks forward to continue collaboration in the future and wished the cricket body all the luck to host a successful tournament in June 2024.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to respond to the Government of Domincia's move.
