Champions Trophy 2025 Will Not Be Held In Pakistan!
If speculations are to be believed, then Pakistan is likely not to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Reports said since India has refused to travel to Pakistan, the host country's rights will be revoked.
Recently, the Board Of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that keeping players security in mind, the cricket body has decided not to travel to the neighbouring country.
As per Pakistani Media, their government is likely to direct the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stop playing with India in ICC or Asian Cricket Council events until the bilateral political and security issues are addressed.

PCB Seeks Clarity from ICC
The PCB is seeking clarification from the ICC regarding the hosting of the Champions Trophy. They have been informed that India will not travel for the tournament, but there has been no mention of a hybrid model being proposed. A PCB source stated, "There is no talk about having the Champions Trophy on a Hybrid Model system as of now."
During last year's Asia Cup, a hybrid model was used where India's matches took place in Sri Lanka while other games were held in Pakistan. The PCB plans to send an email to the ICC with advice from its legal department, seeking clarifications on India's decision.
Awaiting Government Guidelines
The PCB is currently assessing the situation and has not made any decisions regarding their next steps. They are in contact with the government for consultation and directives if needed. The PCB is waiting for policy guidelines from the government concerning India, which will be referenced when seeking clarification from the ICC about India's refusal to participate.
A source highlighted potential legal consequences for the ICC if Pakistan's government opts for a stringent stance on cricket relations with India. This development could significantly impact future cricket events involving both nations.
The situation remains fluid as both cricket boards navigate diplomatic tensions affecting sports engagements. The outcome could influence not only bilateral ties but also broader cricketing dynamics in Asia and beyond.
