Memes Flood Social Media After India Bowled Out For 46 In Bengaluru Test Against New Zealand

Netizens are having a field day after India were bowled out for just 46 runs in their first innings. The match is being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

This is the lowest total in a home Test for India. Their earlier previous lowest score at home was 75, recorded against West Indies in New Delhi in 1987.

The batsmen struggled to play in the wet conditions and were bowled out in 31.1 overs. The Indian batters struggled to adapt to the challenging conditions, collapsing in just 31.1 overs. Five players were dismissed without scoring, and Rishabh Pant was the top scorer with 20 runs off 49 balls.

Only Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) managed to reach double digits alongside Pant. New Zealand's bowlers were in prime form, with Matt Henry (5/15), William O'Rourke (4/22), and Tim Southee (1/8) dominating the game. India lost six wickets for only 34 runs in a dramatic first session.

The second session saw India add just 12 more runs before losing their remaining four wickets.

Meanwhile, netizens are adding humour to the situation by sharing funny memes on social media.

New Zealand pacers William O'Rourke and Matt Henry delivered a fierce spell, capitalizing on veteran Tim Southee's early breakthrough with the key wicket of Indian captain Rohit Sharma within the first hour.

The Indian lineup struggled, with five players - Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and R Ashwin - dismissed for ducks.

India's strategy misfired from the start. Winning the toss, they missed the chance to exploit the conditions with their fast bowlers against a New Zealand lineup low on confidence after a 2-0 defeat in Sri Lanka. Also, sending Kohli to bat at No. 3 in challenging conditions backfired.

KL Rahul, familiar with the ground and experienced as an opener, might have been a better choice at No. 3.

Instead, Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan, who threw his wicket away, both struggled. Rahul, too, went after a poorly placed delivery and was dismissed for a duck.

All-rounders Jadeja and Ashwin were unable to stabilize the innings. Rishabh Pant managed to reach 20 but couldn't settle in due to the rapid fall of wickets around him, ultimately falling to Henry after lunch.

Jasprit Bumrah scored 1, while Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj showed some resistance. However, Henry claimed his fifth wicket by dismissing Kuldeep, sealing India's collapse for 46 runs in 31.2 overs.
