Ahead of much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s pick Vijay Shankar looks in a great touch. The fast-bowling all-rounder has been roped in by the Yellow army for a whopping Rs 1.20 crore deal.

Recently, in a high-voltage match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, Vijay Shankar displayed his excellent skills vs top Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Playing for Tamil Nadu, Shankar struck 3 consecutive sixes on Pandya's pace deliveries.

Vijay Shankar has represented India in 12 ODIs and nine T20Is, with his last international appearance against West Indies in June 2019. Despite limited opportunities at the international level, he continues to showcase his skills in domestic cricket and leagues like the IPL.

Hardik Pandya's Record-Breaking Performance

In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy held in Indore, Hardik Pandya led Baroda to a convincing five-wicket victory over Gujarat. Making a rare domestic appearance, he scored an unbeaten 74 runs off just 35 balls with a strike rate of 211.4, including six fours and five sixes.

This remarkable innings allowed Hardik to achieve a unique milestone as he became the first Indian player to score over 5000 runs and take more than 100 wickets in T20 cricket. His career stats now stand at 5,067 runs and 180 wickets.

During the match against Gujarat, Hardik also contributed with the ball by taking one wicket while conceding 37 runs in four overs. Gujarat posted a total of 184 for five wickets, with Axar Patel scoring an unbeaten 43 off 33 balls.

Bowling Contributions

In addition to Hardik's performance, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi took two crucial wickets for Baroda. However, Axar Patel couldn't claim any wickets despite bowling his full quota of overs and giving away 31 runs.
