Cricketer Musheer Khan Meets Road Accident, Hospitalized

Musheer Khan, the brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, was involved in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh. According to the reports, Musheer sustained a fracture while travelling with his father and coach, Naushad Khan, from Kanpur to Lucknow for the Irani Cup match. The talented Mumbai player recently scored 181 runs in the Duleep Trophy for India C against India A.

Due to this accident, Musheer will miss Mumbai's Irani Cup match against Rest of India at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from October 1-5. He will also be absent from the initial rounds of the Ranji Trophy starting on October 11. Reports indicate that he suffered a neck injury and is expected to be out for three months.

Musheer's Impressive Season

The 19-year-old has had an outstanding first-class season. He is set to travel to Australia for the India A shadow tour, which includes three 'four-day' Tests. Musheer's performances have been noteworthy, including a double century in the Ranji quarter-final and a century in the final. His 181-run innings for India B against India A further highlighted his talent.

The selection for the India A team touring Australia will be based on performances in the Duleep Trophy and the Irani Cup match between Rest of India and Ranji champions Mumbai. While some Test specialists and pacers might be sent early, Musheer and Rajasthan left-arm spinner Manav Suthar are almost certain selections.

Upcoming Challenges

A source mentioned that Musheer did not travel with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. Instead, he was likely travelling from Azamgarh with his father when the accident occurred. Despite this setback, his recent achievements have made him a strong contender for future tours.

Musheer Khan's unfortunate accident has temporarily halted his cricketing journey. However, his impressive performances have already caught attention. As he recovers, fans eagerly await his return to action and hope he continues to shine on both domestic and international stages.
