Champions Trophy 2025: Michael Clarke Picks India As Favourites For Title Win
Former Australian skipper and star batter Michael Clarke has picked Team India as his favourite to win the Champions Trophy 2025. The prestigious tournament is set to begin on February 19 in Pakistan and the UAE.
Cricket fans are eagerly anticipating the clash of the world's top eight teams vying for the cup.

During a pod case, Michael Clarke expressed his views on India's chances in the tournament vs rest of the teams. He said that India would miss Jasprit Bumrah's presence but still considered them strong contenders. "I think there's no doubt about it they'll miss Bumrah. I think he is a huge loss. But you look through that squad, it is so strong," Clarke stated.
India's Strengths and Key Players
Despite Bumrah's absence, Clarke remains confident in India's capabilities. He highlighted Shubman Gill's impressive form and Rohit Sharma's recent century as positive signs for the team. "I think India are the favourites even without Bumrah. I've got them in my top four," he added.
Clarke also identified Hardik Pandya as a crucial player for India, describing him as an X-factor who could significantly impact the tournament. "The one for me that I think they missed through the Australian summer, who is a part of their shorter format, is Hardik Pandya. I think he's a superstar," Clarke commented.
Expectations from Hardik Pandya
Pandya's all-round abilities make him a valuable asset to India's squad. Clarke believes Pandya will have a significant role in India's campaign and contribute to their success. "I think he will have a huge tournament," Clarke said, reinforcing his belief in India's potential to clinch the trophy.
