Champions Trophy 2025: If MEA S Jaishankar Can Go To Pakistan, Why Not Rohit Sharma?
Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal has confirmed that MEA S Jaishankar will lead a delegation to Islamabad, Pakistan, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit on October 15 and 16. The visit comes in response to Pakistan's invitation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting.
Pakistan is currently holding the rotating CHG chairmanship and is the host for this significant event, marking a rare occasion of cooperation between India and Pakistan within a multilateral framework.

But soon after India's official announcement to send its representative to Pakistan to attend the summit, cricket fans, who want to see the India Vs Pakistan match, started questioning on social media that if S Jaishankar can go to Pakistan, then why not Rohit Sharma and team?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not given a green signal to India's participation in Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan keeping players' security concerns in mind. The BCCI also asked the PCB to organize India's matches outside Pakistan, in Sri Lanka or UAE.
Recently, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla told the media that the government of India will take the final call on this.
India and Pakistan do not have very friendly relations at the border. Following which, the BCCI had decided not to play any bilateral series with Pakistan, however, both arch-rivals continued to lock horns at ICC events held.
Many senior Pakistan cricketers have also requested team India, players, the government, and the cricket board to come to Pakistan promising a safe, secure, and cricket-friendly environment.
However, the decision on India's tour to Pakistan is still on the hook.
