Border Gavaskar Trophy: Virat Kohli Practices At Perth Ahead Of 1st Test; Fans Climb Tree To Watch Him Bat

The spin of India's batting order, Virat Kohli is all set to face Australia's fierce bowlers in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 5-test series starting on 22 November. Hungry for runs, Virat Kohli on Thursday practiced hard in the nets and looked in a great touch.

Virat reached Perth before the first Test and began training at the WACA.

During the practice session, Virat Kohli fans climbed trees and walls to see their favourite batsman knocking the ball in the nets.

Ahead of the first test, senior players will play a warm-up game against India A at the WACA ground. This decision contradicts an Australian media report suggesting that India's practice sessions were closed to the public.

Training Sessions and Public Access

A day ago, a laeding newspaper 'The Australian' reported that construction workers at WACA were instructed not to watch or photograph India's net sessions.

An email from Adam Sauzier of ADCO Constructions advised workers not to take photos or videos or fly drones during these sessions. The email also mentioned an India vs India A match scheduled from Friday to Sunday, which was later cancelled in favour of centre wicket practice.

However, sources within BCCI denied any official communication demanding closed-door net sessions. They stated that neither India nor India A requested such restrictions officially. The practice session remains open for both Indian and Australian media to observe and cover without limitations.

The West Australian reported that Virat appeared comfortable against fast bowlers during practice, even executing some impressive shots before switching to spin bowling. This observation adds to the anticipation surrounding his performance in the upcoming series.

The leaked email highlighted India's guarded approach towards their practice sessions at WACA, which is undergoing refurbishment expected to complete next year. Despite these claims, BCCI officials maintain that no official request for closed practices was made.

As fans eagerly await the Test series, Virat's presence continues to draw attention both on and off the field. His past successes in Australia have only heightened expectations for his performance this time around.
