BGT 2024 Ind vs Aus: Mohammed Siraj, Travis Head Fined For Locking Horns On-Field In Adelaide
During the India vs Australia 2nd Test match in Adelaide, Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head were involved in a heated exchange. This incident led to both players being penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Each player received a demerit point on their disciplinary records due to their actions on the field.
The ICC imposed a 20% fine on Siraj's match fees. He was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This article pertains to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal."

Disciplinary Actions and Reactions
Travis Head was charged under Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which deals with "abuse of a player, player support personnel, umpire or match referee during an international match." Both players admitted their offences and accepted the penalties without contesting them.
This incident marked the first offence for both Siraj and Head within the past two years. The altercation occurred on Day 2 of the Pink-ball Test when Siraj dismissed Head after he scored 140 runs. The Indian pacer gave Head a sendoff, prompting a verbal response from the Australian batsman.
Players' Perspectives on the Incident
Travis Head shared his perspective after Day 2's play: "I said well bowled to Siraj, he got a little bit back from me after he pointed me to the shed," he told broadcasters. "Slightly disappointed with the way that transpired. If they want to react like that and that's how they want to represent themselves, then so be it."
Siraj also expressed his views on what happened: "It was a great battle going on [with Head] and he batted really well. When you get hit for a six on a good ball, it fires you up differently," he explained. "And when I bowled him, I just celebrated and he abused me and you saw that on TV too."
Resolution Between Players
The tension between Siraj and Head seemed to ease when they spoke again during Day 3 of the match as Siraj came out to bat. Despite their earlier confrontation, both players managed to resolve their differences amicably.
This incident highlights how emotions can run high in competitive sports but also shows that players can address conflicts maturely. Both Siraj and Head have moved past this episode, focusing now on their respective cricketing careers.
