Australia vs South Africa World Test Championship (WTC) final is underway at Lord's Iconic Stadium. On day 1, Kagiso Rabada has etched his name in cricket history by surpassing Allan Donald's record for the most wickets taken by a South African in Test cricket. This achievement places him fourth on the all-time list for South Africa. Today, picked up a five-wicket haul.

Rabada began his impressive spell by dismissing Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green consecutively. As the innings progressed, he took the wickets of Beau Webster, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc, securing his place on the Lord's honours board. This feat also allowed him to match Jasprit Bumrah's record for the most wickets in World Test Championship history.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada's Remarkable Achievement

With his five-wicket haul, Rabada now shares the record with Jasprit Bumrah for the most wickets in WTC history, both having 156 wickets. Nathan Lyon leads with 210 wickets, followed by Pat Cummins with 200, R Ashwin with 195, and Mitchell Starc with 171. Rabada expressed that while records are significant, his main focus remains on performing well for his team.

"That's all secondary (climbing the wicket-takers list for SA). The primary is to keep running in and doing the job. Means a lot to get past Allan Donald, what a legend," Rabada stated after achieving this milestone.

South Africa's Leading Wicket-Takers

In terms of Test cricket history for South Africa, Rabada now stands among elite company. The top wicket-takers include players with tallies of 439, 421, 390, and Rabada himself at 331. His consistent performances have solidified his reputation as one of South Africa's finest bowlers.
