Asia Cup 2025: Match Timings Revised In UAE Due To Heat, India vs Pakistan Clash On September 14

The organisers of the Asia Cup 2025 have revised match timings in the United Arab Emirates because of extreme heat conditions. India, placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Oman, and hosts UAE, will begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10, followed by the much-anticipated clash against Pakistan on September 14.

Out of the 19 scheduled fixtures, timings for 18 matches have been altered. Only the UAE vs Oman match on September 15 remains unchanged as a day game. All other matches, which were originally set for 7 PM local time, will now begin at 6:30 PM Gulf Standard Time. For Indian viewers, the day-night games will start at 8 PM IST. The final, scheduled for September 28, is also included in the revised timing.

Asia Cup as Build-Up for T20 World Cup

The Asia Cup 2025 will act as a key preparatory tournament ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Five of the eight participating teams - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan - will feature in the global event, making this regional championship an important testing ground.

India's Group A Fixtures

India's group stage fixtures include matches against UAE on September 10, Pakistan on September 14, and Oman on September 19. The top two teams from each group will move on to the Super Four stage, where every team will face the others once in a round-robin format. If India and Pakistan progress, they could meet again on September 21 and possibly once more in the final.

India's Squad

India announced their 15-member squad earlier this month, with Suryakumar Yadav named captain and Shubman Gill as vice-captain. The squad also includes Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, and Rinku Singh. Notably, Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out.
