Sachin Tendulkar hailed Arjun Tendulkar after a solid first game for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2026 on 23 May. Arjun, who earlier represented Mumbai Indians, finally played for LSG against Punjab Kings at Ekana Cricket Stadium and struck once with the ball.

The match ended in defeat for LSG, but Arjun’s display stood out in a high-scoring chase. Sachin’s public message on X highlighted both the wicket and the attitude Arjun showed through a long wait this season before getting selected for this final league game.

Arjun bowled his full quota of four overs after entering the attack once the field spread. Punjab Kings were chasing 197 and attacked most bowlers, yet Arjun conceded 36 runs and dismissed Prabhsimran Singh, who was set and scoring freely, with a low full toss that pinned the batter leg-before.

LSG had earlier posted 196/6 after being asked to bat, with Josh Inglis striking 72. Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad provided late acceleration, and Arjun contributed a run-a-ball five at No.8 from five deliveries. Despite that earlier exposure, Arjun spent most of this LSG campaign on the bench. Mohammed Shami led the attack and continued to perform even as age advanced, which limited Arjun’s chances.
