The Australian Open 2025 is set to kick off this week, marking the first Grand Slam of the year. Tennis enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly anticipating the event. The qualifiers have already begun, and the main draw is scheduled for Thursday morning.
Novak Djokovic is returning after a challenging 2024 season where he didn't secure any ATP titles and dropped to No.7 in singles rankings. He aims to extend his record with a 25th major win and an 11th title at Melbourne Park.

Australian Open 2025 Schedule
The qualifiers are taking place from January 5 to January 8. The main draw will be held on January 9 at 09:00 AM IST. The first-round matches will commence on January 11, with the women's singles final on January 25 and the men's singles final on January 26.
Melbourne Park will host the entire tournament, marking its 113th edition. Major matches, including men's and women's singles finals, will be held at Rod Laver Arena. Other significant matches will take place at John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, and Show Court Arena.
Title Contenders for Australian Open 2025
Jannik Sinner, who won his first major in a remarkable comeback during the 2024 Australian final, enters as a top-seeded player in men's singles. Aryna Sabalenka aims for her third consecutive Australian Open women's singles title after reclaiming the No.1 spot in WTA rankings by the end of 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev are also strong contenders in men's singles alongside Sinner. However, much attention will be on Novak Djokovic, a winner of 24 Grand Slam titles. Last year, Djokovic lost to Sinner in the semi-finals and didn't win any ATP titles throughout 2024.
