Antim Panghal and Team to Be Deported from Paris Olympics for Disciplinary Breach
Antim Panghal and her team are being deported from Paris due to a significant disciplinary violation. The young wrestler gave her official accreditation card to her sister, who was caught by security while leaving the Games Village.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has decided to send Antim and her support staff back to India after French authorities reported the breach. An IOA statement confirmed this decision but did not disclose the nature of the violation.
Details of the Incident
Instead of going to the Games Village, Antim went to a hotel where her coach Bhagat Singh and sparring partner Vikas were staying. She asked her sister to retrieve her belongings from the Games Village. Her sister was caught impersonating Antim and taken to a police station for questioning, according to a source.
The 19-year-old U20 world champion Antim was also summoned by police to give her statement. This incident followed her loss in the women's 53kg category at the Paris Olympics.
Additional Issues
If that wasn't enough, Antim's personal support staff, Vikas and Bhagat, travelled in a taxi while intoxicated and refused to pay the driver. The driver then called the police, adding to their troubles.
An IOA official expressed frustration over the situation, stating, "We have left to fight fire." This incident has caused significant embarrassment for India on an international stage.
When contacted, Vikas denied any involvement in such incidents. He questioned, "Who told you this? Antim and her sister are sitting right before me," refuting the claims made against them.
This series of events has led to a swift response from the IOA, aiming to address the disciplinary issues promptly. The actions taken by Antim and her support staff have put them under scrutiny and led to their deportation from Paris.
The IOA's decision underscores the importance of maintaining discipline and adhering to regulations during international competitions. Such incidents not only affect individual athletes but also reflect on the country's reputation in global sports events.
