This scholarship programme, called the 'Award of Scholarships to Outstanding NCC Cadets of the UT of Puducherry', aims to reward cadets who have demonstrated excellence in their NCC activities. It covers cadets across different wings and divisions, providing financial support to continue their education.

    Eligibility Criteria

    1. You must be an Indian citizen.
    2. You should be a native of the Union Territory of Puducherry. This can be either by birth or by living in Puducherry continuously for at least five years.
    3. You need to have attended 75% of the scheduled parades during the year.
    4. You must have attended the required number of NCC camps.
    5. You should not have been dismissed from your institution or the NCC due to disciplinary issues.
    6. The scholarship is available for cadets in these categories: Senior Division Boys (up to graduation), Senior Wing Girls, Junior Division Boys (up to 12th Standard), and Junior Wing Girls.

    Important Note: If you receive this scholarship, you cannot claim any other regular scholarships or stipends. However, you can still avail fee concessions from your educational institution if they are offered.

    How To Apply

    1. First, approach your Company/Troop Commander to get the prescribed application form. This is a hard copy application.
    2. Fill out the form carefully and attach all the necessary documents.
    3. Submit the completed application form and all required documents to your Company/Troop Commander.
    4. The Officer commanding your NCC Unit will review the applications and send them to the Group Commander along with their recommendations.

    • Nativity/Citizenship/Residential Certificate: This must be issued by an Officer from the Revenue Department, not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar.
    • Stamp-sized Photograph.
    • Aadhaar Card.
    • Public Information Certificate (PIC).
    • NCC Certificate, issued by your NCC unit.
    • Record of your NCC Camp attendance.
    • Character Certificate: Issued by your Institution/NCC unit, confirming you haven't been removed for disciplinary reasons.
    • For Senior Division Boys (Up to graduation) or Senior Wing Girls: Marksheet or Degree Certificate.
    • For Junior Division Boys (Up to 12th Standard) or Junior Wing Girls: Marksheet up to 12th Standard.
    • Any other documents as requested by the Directorate of School Education.

    Can I receive this scholarship if I am already getting another scholarship?

    No, you cannot receive this scholarship if you are already getting any other regular scholarships or stipends. However, you can still use any fee concessions provided by your institution.

    You will need a Nativity/Citizenship/Residential Certificate. This certificate should be issued by an officer in the Revenue Department who holds a rank of Deputy Tahsildar or higher.
