Are you a woman scientist with a PhD looking to make a real difference in society? The Department of Science & Technology (DST) has a special fellowship program designed just for you.

What Is The WISE-SCOPE Fellowship?

The WISE-SCOPE Fellowship, which stands for Women In Science and Engineering-Societal Challenges with Opportunities, is a fantastic initiative by the Indian Government. It's all about giving talented women scientists and technologists, who have already completed their PhD, a platform to use their knowledge for the betterment of society. This fellowship encourages projects that address challenges at the grassroots level, using science and technology as the driving force for solutions.

Who Can Benefit From This Fellowship?

This program is specifically for women who have earned their PhD in basic or applied sciences, or possess equivalent degrees like MD/MS/MDS. It’s for those who are passionate about finding S&T solutions for everyday social issues, improving livelihoods, reducing hardship, enhancing health and nutrition, managing natural resources, promoting sustainable agriculture, tackling climate change, and assisting in disaster management. If you have a viable technology or technique that can be practically applied and scaled up for public good, this is your chance.

Why Is This Fellowship Important?

WISE-SCOPE is crucial because it bridges the gap between advanced scientific research and the real-world needs of our communities. It empowers women in STEM to lead initiatives that bring tangible improvements to people's lives. The fellowship supports innovative projects across key areas like energy, water, waste management, engineering, environmental sustainability, agriculture, and health. It's a pathway to turn scientific expertise into impactful societal change.
