    • You must be an Indian citizen.
    • You should have completed your PhD from a recognized university.
    • Your academic record must be excellent, with first-class grades in all previous academic levels.
    • You need to hold a regular (permanent) position at your institution and be actively involved in research.
    • The maximum age limit for applicants is 40 years as of the application submission deadline.
    • This fellowship can only be availed once in your entire career.
    • If you are already receiving any other fellowship, you are not eligible to apply.

    • Each institution can nominate up to three candidates for each call for applications.

    Fellowship Discontinuation Rules

    • Your performance will be regularly reviewed by the PhD Cell, Digital India Corporation (DIC), under MeitY.
    • An annual assessment will determine the continuation of your fellowship.
    • If you wish to leave the fellowship, you must inform your institution and DIC through the institution at least one month in advance.
    • The institution should not incur any expenses once the fellowship is terminated or you resign. The institution must ensure submission of your work report and other required documents.
    • The PhD Cell, DIC, MeitY reserves the right to stop or terminate the fellowship at any point if:
      • Progress is not satisfactory.
      • The grant is not being used appropriately.
      • There is a violation of the scheme's guidelines.
      • Any other reason deemed appropriate by the PhD Cell, DIC, MeitY.
