    Eligibility Criteria

    1. You must be a citizen of India.
    2. You need to hold a PhD degree from a recognised university. You should have achieved first-class marks (based on grades or equivalent) in all your previous academic levels and maintained a good academic record throughout.
    3. You must have a permanent position at your institute and be actively involved in research.
    4. The upper age limit for applicants is 40 years as of the application submission date.
    5. This fellowship can only be availed once in your lifetime.
    6. You are not eligible if you are currently receiving any other fellowship.
    7. Applications must be submitted through eligible institutions. Each institution can nominate up to three candidates per application round.
    8. Performance Review: Your research progress will be reviewed periodically by the PhD Cell, DIC; MeitY. An annual assessment will determine the continuation of the fellowship.
    9. Discontinuation: If you wish to leave the fellowship, you must inform Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme through your institution with at least one month's notice. The institution must then inform DIC immediately. No expenditure should be incurred by the institution from the date of termination or resignation.
    10. Termination: The PhD Cell, DIC; MeitY reserves the right to stop or terminate the fellowship at any stage if research progress is unsatisfactory, funds are not used properly, guidelines are violated, or for any other valid reason.
