Who Can Apply?

You must be a student from a recognized University or Institute and fall into one of these categories:

5-Year Integrated M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./M. Tech.: Students in their 7th to 9th semester.
3-Year M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech.: Students in their 3rd to 5th semester.
2-Year M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./M. Tech.: Students in their 2nd or 3rd semester.
B.Sc. Final Year Students: Students completing their Bachelor of Science degree.

When can I apply for the internship program?

You can submit your applications for internships or training between February 1st to February 28th and again from September 1st to September 30th each year. The online application form becomes active during these periods.

Does NCESS provide accommodation or transport for interns?

No, NCESS does not provide any accommodation or transport facilities for project students or interns.

What is the duration of the internship or training at NCESS?

Students are required to complete a minimum of 8 continuous weeks of training at NCESS.

Can I choose my own supervisor or research project?

No, neither students nor supervisors can choose each other. A suitable supervisor will be assigned based on your application and research interests. Similarly, the internship/training/dissertation topic will be allocated.

What are the requirements to complete the internship?

At the end of your training, you need to give a 15-minute presentation (10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A). After this, get your report or dissertation signed by your supervisor and submit it to the visiting students' committee. Your report must also be submitted to the NCESS library.

Is there any fee to participate in the project work at NCESS?

No, there is absolutely no fee charged for carrying out project work at NCESS.

What happens if I don't accept the internship offer within the given time?

You need to accept the offer within 7-10 working days of receiving it. If you don't respond within this timeframe, the offer will be given to another applicant from the waiting list.

After shortlisting, the Director of NCESS approves the candidates. The final list, along with the assigned supervisor and project title, is announced on the website in the first week of May for the summer session and the first week of December for other sessions.
