Who Can Apply?

To be considered for these awards, you need to meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a registered artisan or weaver. This registration can be under the Directorate of Industries, Uttarakhand, or with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts/Handloom), Government of India.
  2. You should be an individual artisan/weaver, or part of a registered handicraft or handloom cooperative society, or a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Uttarakhand.
  3. If you are part of a cooperative society or institution, it must not have any outstanding loans with any government department or bank.
  4. Anyone who has received an award under this scheme cannot apply again for the following three years.

To apply for the Award Scheme to Encourage Entrepreneurs, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain the application form from the office of the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC). You might also be able to download it from the official departmental website: https://doi.uk.gov.in/.
  2. Fill out the application form completely and accurately.
  3. Submit the completed form along with all required documents to the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) in your district by the specified deadline.

Note: A Demand Draft of ₹50 is required, payable to the General Manager, District Industries Centre.

Can an artisan or weaver receive the award more than once?

No. Once awarded, the artisan or weaver cannot be considered again for the next three consecutive years.
