Areas of Research and Eligible Projects

  • The research project should primarily focus on utilizing and unraveling the resources of the Nodal Institution.
  • While the main focus is on the Nodal Institution's resources, scholars can also use facilities and resources from other institutions if needed. The Nodal Institution will facilitate such access.
  • In cases where two institutions are equally important for the research, a 'Co-institution' can be designated, with a Tripartite MoU covering aspects like intellectual property and credit sharing. However, financial accounting remains with the Nodal Institution.
  • The project's outcome must significantly benefit the Nodal Institution (or Co-institution) and contribute new knowledge to the field.

How To Apply

  1. Interested candidates should prepare their application form according to the detailed guidelines of the scheme.
  2. Submit the completed application form to one of the Nodal Institutions of your choice. The selection of the Nodal Institution should be based on the area of research you propose to undertake.
  3. Refer to the official guidelines for detailed information on preparing your research proposal, available in Appendix A.

Selected scholars who need to rent accommodation in the city of their Nodal Institution are eligible for a House Rent Allowance of up to 30% of their honorarium. For those from government or academic backgrounds, their parent organization typically handles HRA.

The Nodal Institution will offer essential infrastructural support. This includes providing a computer with internet access, a workspace within the institution, and a conducive environment for research. Scholars will also have access to library facilities.
