Aspiring to study further but worried about the loan? The Delhi Government's Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme is here to help! This initiative is designed to make higher education and skill development accessible to all deserving students in Delhi. It ensures that financial constraints don't hold back bright minds from pursuing their academic and career goals.

What Is This Scheme?

The Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme works by encouraging banks to offer education loans to students. The government steps in by creating a special fund that guarantees these loans. This means if a student can't repay the loan, the guarantee fund covers it, encouraging banks to lend without much risk. The aim is to provide affordable loans for studies in Delhi and also for recognized courses outside Delhi, within India.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

This scheme is primarily for students who are residents of Delhi. If you've completed your 10th and 12th from Delhi, or your qualifying exam is 10th and you completed it in Delhi, you're likely eligible. It also covers children of Delhi Government employees. The scheme supports students looking for admissions in recognized government institutions and universities in Delhi, as well as specific private institutions that meet certain quality standards. It also extends to students pursuing courses in central or state government institutions outside Delhi but within India.

Why This Scheme Is Important

Education is a powerful tool, and this scheme ensures that more students can access quality education and skill development. By removing the need for collateral or margin money, it makes loans achievable for many who might otherwise struggle to arrange these. It supports a wide range of courses, from regular degrees to professional certifications and skill-based training, thereby contributing to a more skilled workforce and empowering students to build better futures.
