Who Can Apply?

  • You must be planning to get advanced education in any field of art and culture, such as music, dance, theatre, fine arts, folk arts, or photography.
  • The education or training you seek must be outside Goa or outside India.
  • You should have a good understanding of the art form you wish to study.
  • You must be born in Goa.
  • You should have lived in Goa for a significant period, or at least for the last 15 years, leading up to your application date.
  • You must be 35 years old or younger.
  • Only one student from each family can apply for this scheme in a given financial year.
  • Your family's annual income should not exceed the limit set by the Government from time to time.
  • If you are already getting any financial aid or scholarship from other government or non-government sources for the same training, the total amount from all sources must be less than the actual cost of your education.

Special Considerations

  • If you wish to seek basic training outside Goa in an art form that is not available within the state at all, your application may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • In rare situations, a second application from the same family might be considered if it's for a different art stream than the first applicant, based on their merit or contribution. The committee will decide on such exceptions.

Documents You Need to Submit

For Your Application:

  • A recent passport-sized photograph of yourself.
  • An attested photocopy of your Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate (to prove your age).

Unfortunately, no. The scheme has an age limit, and you must be 35 years old or younger to be eligible for this assistance.

What if I'm already getting money from a private organization for my art course? What paperwork do I need?

If you're receiving aid from other sources, you'll need to submit a document that lists the details of all the financial grants you are getting from these other bodies along with your application.

Do I need to show I know something about the art form before I can apply for advanced training support?

Yes, you should have a clear understanding and outlined knowledge of the specific art form for which you are seeking education.

For how long can I receive financial assistance under this scheme for my studies?
