Details

Looking to set up a fish retail market or an aquarium business in Haryana? The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is here to help. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, focuses on providing financial assistance to individuals for constructing fish retail markets.

What Is This Scheme?

The PMMSY scheme aims to boost the fisheries sector by supporting the construction of essential infrastructure like fish retail markets. This includes markets for selling fresh fish as well as specialized markets for ornamental fish and aquariums. The goal is to make it easier for beneficiaries to establish and run these businesses.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

This scheme is designed for individual beneficiaries in Haryana who wish to construct fish retail markets or ornamental fish/aquarium markets. The support extends to those who can commit to operating and maintaining the facility for a significant period.

Why This Scheme Is Important

By providing subsidies for construction, the scheme encourages the development of modern retail infrastructure in the fisheries sector. It helps in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and supports the growth of both traditional fish vending and the emerging ornamental fish trade. Ensuring these markets remain operational for a decade highlights the scheme's focus on long-term viability.
