(i) ₹2500/- per month for male students

(ii) ₹3000/- per month for female students

2. Letter from Hon’ble Prime Minister - All applicants selected under the new category will be given a personal letter from Hon’ble Prime Minister in appropriate language.

3. Duration of the Scholarship: Two to five years as per the duration of the course.

Note:The payment of the scholarship will be granted after approval of the DG/RPF as per order of merit in each year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must be dependent wards or widows of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel (below the rank of Gazetted Officer).
  2. Only students pursuing regular courses are eligible.
  3. A minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade is required in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which could be 12th Std., Diploma, or Graduation.
  4. The scholarship is limited to a maximum of two wards per family. Both beneficiaries and concerned zonal railways/RPSF must ensure this.
  5. Institutions, universities, or colleges must have All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) regulations to be permissible.
  6. Students currently studying abroad are not eligible.
  7. Distance learning courses are not permitted under this scheme.
  8. The scholarship can only be availed for one course per student.

Eligible Courses:

The scheme covers Professional Degree Courses such as BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, BEd, BBS, BCA, MCA, B. Pharma, and others recognized by government bodies like AICTE, MCI, UGC, and NCTE. Master's degrees are generally not covered, except for MBA and MCA.

Minimum Marks Requirement:

At least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) is necessary for the initial scholarship approval. The MEQ varies by course:

  • Medical Courses (MBBS and equivalent): 12th Standard
  • Engineering (B.E., B.Tech): 10+2 / Diploma (for lateral entry)
  • Management/IT/Science (BBA, BCA, B.Sc. (Ag)): 12th Standard
  • Postgraduate Courses (MBA, B.Ed., MCA): Graduation
  • Integrated Law Courses (5-year): 12th Standard

Order of Preference:

In case of more applications than scholarships available, preference will be given in the following order:

  1. Wards/widows of personnel who died in harness due to terrorist/criminal encounters or during election work.
  2. Wards/Widows of personnel who died while in service.
  3. Wards of retired RPF/RPSF personnel.
  4. Wards of serving RPF/RPSF personnel.
