Who Can Participate?

To be eligible for the Popular Tiatr Competition, you need to meet the following criteria:

You must have completed a minimum of 5 performances, including at least one Kantaram, between April 1, 2018, and December 31, 2018.
Your performances must have taken place in one of the designated auditoriums across Goa. These include:

- Gomant Vidya Niketan Margao
- Hanuman Natyagraha Mapusa
- Kala Academy Panjim
- Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir Ponda
- Ravindra Bhavan Vasco

Your tiatr must strictly adhere to the traditional format.
You must inform the organizers about your performance date, time, and venue at least 15 days before the show.
You need to arrange for 6 complimentary passes for the judges and organizers for your competition show.
Your live music band must consist of at least 5 instruments, including drums, keyboard, bass, guitar, and 2 blowing instruments.
Child artists up to 12 years of age can be included for special awards in singing and acting categories.

Important Guidelines

Maintain the traditional format of tiatr throughout your performance. Failure to do so may make you ineligible for the top 3 prizes, though individual artist awards can still be considered.
The judges' panel's recommendations will be final in awarding prizes.
Political songs are permitted, but criticism of individuals by name, display of images, or character assassination is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.

The top prize for the best tiatr performance is a massive ₹2,00,000/- accompanied by a memento.

I've written my script by hand. Can I still submit it for the competition?

No, only typed scripts and song lyrics are accepted. You need to submit three typed copies of your script and three typed copies of the song lyrics for each song.

If my tiatr's story is inspired by someone else's work, what do I need to do?

If your script is based on another writer's story, you must get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from that writer and submit it with your application.

How much advance notice do I have to give for my performance dates?
