  • The beneficiary woman is not required to invest any amount of her own on the projects upto cost of ₹ 2,00,000/-.
  • Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following conditions:

    1. You must be an Indian citizen.
    2. Your family's annual income should not exceed ₹1,00,000. This is known as the 'Means Test'.
    3. You must have secured at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in your qualifying examination.
    4. You should be pursuing undergraduate studies in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Dairy, or Animal Husbandry.

    Important Note on Means Test:

    • If your parents' annual income is over ₹1,00,000, you won't be eligible for the scholarship. However, you might still receive a national prize of ₹500 and a certificate of merit.
    • There is no provision for a 'half scholarship' under this scheme.

The scholar must have been progressing well enough to have likely passed the exam with 50% marks. This concession can be used only once during the entire course.

    What is the financial benefit provided by this scholarship?

    What if two candidates have the same marks in the qualifying exam?

    In cases where candidates have secured equal marks, their inter-se merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in science subjects in that examination.

    Does the scholarship cover absence due to maternity leave?

    Yes, for married women, the scholarship is admissible at the full rate for up to three months if absent due to maternity. However, no scholarship will be paid for any period exceeding three months for this reason.

    Absolutely. The scholarship is open to all individuals, irrespective of sex, race, or religion.

    How long is the scholarship tenable for?

    The scholarship is tenable for the entire duration of the undergraduate degree course in the concerned subject.

    What if a student is absent for more than four months due to illness?

    If the absence due to illness exceeds four months, no scholarship will be paid for that period. However, for the first four months, the scholarship will be paid according to the rules: full scholarship for the first two months, and half scholarship for the subsequent period up to four months.

    Is this scholarship available for foreign nationals?

    No, this scholarship is generally for individuals of Indian nationality, as defined in the Constitution of India.
