In today's digital age, good governance is all about making services accessible and efficient for citizens. The Indian government understands this well and has introduced the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) to celebrate and encourage innovative digital initiatives.

What Is This Scheme?

The National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) is an initiative by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Its main goal is to spot and honour those government departments, organizations, and even startups that have done outstanding work in using technology to deliver public services better. It’s about celebrating innovation, making things transparent, and boosting efficiency in how the government works.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

This scheme is designed for a wide range of participants. This includes central government ministries and departments, state governments, Union Territories, district administrations, and local urban bodies. It also opens its doors to academic institutions, research organizations, and startups that are working on innovative e-governance projects. Essentially, anyone involved in implementing digital solutions for public service delivery can be a part of this recognition program.

Why This Scheme Is Important

The NAeG plays a crucial role in driving digital transformation across the country. By recognizing exemplary work, it sets benchmarks for others to follow.
