Travelling across Madhya Pradesh is about to get more comfortable! The state government, through its Tourism Department, has launched a scheme to boost the development of essential roadside facilities.

The 'Capital Investment Subsidy for Establishment of Way Side Amenities' scheme aims to improve travel infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh. It encourages individuals and businesses to invest in creating standardized wayside amenities by offering financial support. The following activities may be undertaken during the event:

  1. Administration of weekly IFA tablet and egg.
  2. Screening of nutritionally at-risk adolescent girls (BMI checkup).
  3. Screening for anaemia status (haemoglobin testing).
  4. Counselling and referrals. The One Stop Centre Counsellors & State Social Welfare Board Counsellors maybe roped in for the purpose alongwith Health Counsellors.
  5. IEC/SBCC activities through Tiki mausi and Kishori resources.
  6. Identification of girls & boys for linkage with skill development programmes.
  7. Cultural Programmes/ Speaking events/ Exhibitions by both adolescent girls & boys.
  8. Boys & men to be encouraged to come forward, support & participate in the event. This is highly desirable under the Departments initiative of roping in men & boys to come forward to fight against malnutrition (# menstreaming).
  9. The event shall also be utilized for generation of Aadhaar numbers/ opening of bank accounts/ generation of birth certificates.

What happens if I have to close my tourism unit within three years of getting the subsidy?

If your unit closes down within the first year after receiving the subsidy, you'll need to refund 80% of the subsidy amount. If it closes within the second year, you'll refund 60%, and if within the third year, you'll refund 50%.

Can I apply for this subsidy if I plan to expand my existing operational hotel?

Yes, expansion projects are eligible. However, there's a condition: the expansion must lead to at least a 50% increase in the existing establishment's staying capacity.

Is there a specific timeframe within which my project needs to be established to qualify for the capital investment benefits?

Absolutely. Your project must be established and start operations during the active period of the current tourism policy to be eligible for the capital investment subsidy.

If my tourism unit is eligible for benefits under multiple categories, can I claim subsidies from all of them?
