The Goa government is all set to honour its brightest minds in science and technology. The 'Scheme for Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar (GRVP)' is designed to celebrate and financially support Goan innovators and scientists who have made significant contributions.

Benefits

  1. Waiver of Outstanding Dues:Complete waiver of surcharge amount and 50% waiver of the principal outstanding amount as of the date of implementation of the scheme.
  2. Benefit to Consumers:The entire surcharge and 50% of the principal amount are borne by the concerned distribution companies.
  3. State Government Support:The remaining 50% of the principal amount is borne by the State Government as a subsidy to the distribution companies.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The scheme is open to Students, Startups, Innovators, Research Faculty, and Scientists.
  2. Applicants must have been residents of Goa for at least the last 15 years.
  3. The project or innovation must be related to a hardware or software-based product.
  4. If the proposed idea or project involves industry or government collaboration, applicants need to provide a Letter of Intent (LOI).
  5. Applicants must be registered under the Virtual Innovation Register (VIR) with a 'New Idea'.
  6. An individual can receive this award only once.
  7. Proposals are preferably encouraged in focus sectors such as Green technology, Clean energy, Smart materials, Waste to Wealth, Affordable Healthcare, Water & Sewage Management, Renewable Energy, Electric Vehicles, Smart Cities, Agri-tech, Meditech, Health Care Tech, and Digital media/ITES.
