Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scheme, the following conditions must be met:

The bride must be above 18 years of age, and the groom must be above 21 years of age.
Each couple can receive this benefit only once.
Applications must be submitted within two years of the marriage date.
The level of financial assistance depends on the percentage of disability, as detailed below:
- 40% or more disability: For conditions like blindness, low vision, hereditary muscular dystrophy, leprosy-cured, acid attack victims, amblyopia, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, multiple sclerosis-hardening disorder.
- 71% to 100% disability: For hearing impairment.
- 50% or more disability: For chronic neurological conditions, generalized trauma, malignant haemorrhage, tremor, muscular rigidity, intellectual disability, reduced hemoglobin content, chronic anemia, mental illness, special learning disabilities, speech and language impairment, neuro-developmental impairment, multiple disabilities.
Special Note for Inter-State Couples: If a differently-abled applicant marries another differently-abled person from a different state, both spouses are eligible for the scheme's benefits upon providing the necessary proof. The District Social Defence Officer will require an undertaking from the applicant confirming that the female beneficiary has not received similar assistance from her home state.
