Details

Dairy farming in Goa is getting a significant boost with the 'Dairy Equipment Scheme' launched by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. This initiative is designed to ease the burden on farmers by providing financial support to acquire modern dairy equipment. It aims to reduce the hard work involved in manual tasks and give the local dairy industry a much-needed push.

What Is This Scheme?

The Dairy Equipment Scheme is a government initiative from Goa aimed at helping dairy farmers overcome the practical challenges of buying essential machinery. It encourages the use of modern equipment to make dairy operations more efficient and less labour-intensive. Farmers can get financial aid in the form of a subsidy to purchase new dairy equipment.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

This scheme is specifically for individual farmers in Goa who own dairy milch animals and have a cattle shed within the state. To be eligible, applicants must have been residents of Goa for at least five years and must not have received subsidies for the same equipment from other government programmes.

Why This Scheme Is Important

By making dairy equipment more affordable through subsidies, the scheme directly contributes to the modernization of the dairy sector. It helps farmers reduce their workload, improve hygiene and productivity, and ultimately enhance their income. This supports the growth of the dairy industry in Goa.
