    Eligibility Criteria

    • Safai Karamcharis (including waste pickers), identified Manual Scavengers, and their dependents.
    • Co-operative societies of the target group that are registered.
    • Associations or firms legally formed by the target group.
    • Individuals who can provide a certificate from a local Revenue Officer, Municipal Officer, Cantonment Executive Officer, Railway Officer, Head of a Government Department (not below Gazetted Officer rank), or an Elected Member of a Municipal Body, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, or Regional Manager of RRBs/PSBs. (Note: Under the MS Act, 2013, a person identified as a Manual Scavenger in a survey and listed by the State Government does not need to provide this certificate).

    Yes, if you are studying in India and your family's annual income is up to ₹4,50,000, the interest amount on your education loan is reimbursable under a scheme by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

    How long do I have to repay the loan, and is there a waiting period after my course?

    You will have 5 years to repay the loan after you finish your course. There's also a moratorium period of 1 year after your course ends before you need to start repaying. However, you will need to pay the interest on a quarterly basis right from when the loan is disbursed.
