Details

The Gujarat Government, through its Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, has introduced the AGR 3 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme specifically for Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers. This initiative is designed to uplift the livelihoods of tribal farmers by increasing their agricultural output and income.

What Is This Scheme?

This scheme focuses on equipping ST farmers with better farming tools and resources. It involves providing them with seeds of high-yield varieties and fertilizers at subsidized rates. The goal is to encourage the adoption of modern agricultural practices and equipment, thereby boosting crop production.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

The primary beneficiaries are farmers belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category residing in Gujarat. This includes those in designated Tribal Areas (TASP) and tribal cultivators living outside these specific areas. The scheme also targets farmers in 208 talukas where the Submissions on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) scheme is not yet implemented.

Why This Scheme Is Important

By providing financial assistance for agricultural equipment like plant protection tools, tarpaulins, micronutrients, water pipelines, and more, the scheme empowers farmers to adopt scientific farming methods. Subsidized seeds and fertilizers further reduce their input costs. Ultimately, the scheme aims to enhance crop yield and improve the overall economic well-being of tribal farming communities across Gujarat.

Objective

The AGR 3 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme for ST Farmers, launched by the Gujarat Government's Agriculture Department, aims to support tribal farmers with essential farm inputs and equipment.

Benefits
